What is cobalt iii hydroxide?

Cobalt (III) Hydroxide is also known as cobaltic hydroxide, having chemical formula Co(OH)3. It is a reddish-brown solid with very low solubility in water, making it insoluble. Its structure is octahedral, and it is an oxidizing agent. When heated above 112°C, it can decompose to cobalt (II) oxide and water. Cobalt III Hydroxide finds some applications in the battery industry, where it is used to make nickel-cadmium batteries and some capacitors. It is also used in the production of cobalt pigments.
